Paul Jaboulet Aine La Chapelle Hermitage (France)
We were very pleased to be able to offer the Jaboulet La Chapelle Hermitage to Tannic members. This is one of the highest profile wines from France, and can be considered the standard for northern Rhone wines period. The wine is aged for 15 to 18 months in wood in their ancient “Vineum” cellar before being released in extremely small quantities to the public with less than 250 cases of 6 making it to the U.S. and an even smaller amount making it to Alberta.

Trefethen - HaLo (USA)
The HaLo is the flagship wine from Napa producer Trefethan Family Vineyards. Named after the founder’s daughters Hailey and Loren, it is 100% sourced from a single vineyard, Hillspring, in the Oak Knoll district of Napa Valley. The 2006 vintage in Napa was rated 95 points by Wine Spectator and enjoyed one of the longest growing seasons in 40 years!

B3 Pauline Cabernet (Australia)
The Pauline is named after the boat that brought the Basedow family to Australia from Germany in 1848. That boat was apparently responsible for bringing some serious winemaking talent and now four generations later, the three Basedow brothers are carving a niche by making wines sourced from all over South Australia.

Podere Sapaio Volpolo (Italy)
This is a top flight Super-Tuscan that has been racking up the critical acclaim recently. In the most recent Wine Spectator it was compare to a top 2009 Bordeaux but at a fraction of the price. The Volpolo is comprised of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 15% Petite Verdot. It has seen 14 months in French oak barriques before aging for 6 months in a bottle and a smallish 4500 cases were made.

Meyer Chardonnay (Canada)
Meyer Family's 2010 Tribute Chardonnay is single vineyard wine from the Old Main Road Vineyard which is comprised of 15 year old vines. The vineyard has a slight northern aspect that helps to slow the ripening and increase the concentration of flavour and complexity of the Chardonnay.

Chateau Haut-Bailly (France)
This is a wine “of the vintage”. The 2009 Bordeaux that we have been featuring on Tannic have all been rated as some of the finest of the last decade. However, in this case, this Chateau Haut-Bailly could be the finest wine produced at this Chateau ever, and that is high praise for a wine which has peformed better than Haut-Brion in blind tastings.

Viña Mambrilla Alidis Reserva (Spain)
Bodegas Viña Mambrilla is a small, family owned and run estate located in Mambrilla de Castrejon, a small town in Burgos, in the heart of Ribera del Duero. They have 110 acres of Tempranillo vines, the majority of which ranging in age between 50-100 years old.

La Ferme du Mont Cotes Capelan (France)
Stephane Vedeau is an agri-scientist turned winemaker. Vedeau is fervently dedicated to making clean, terroir expressive wines and uses techniques to ensure an integrated oak profile. He has boutique wineries in both the northern and southern Rhone as well as the Languedoc. He is a self confessed fanatic of Grenache.

Mvemve Raats de compostella (South Africa)
The de Compostella has received 93 points scores from Wine Spectator for 2004, 2005 and 2006. The 2006 vintage only had 150 cases in total produced, with less than 20 making it into Canada. This wine is extremely rare and we were proud to offer it in limited quantities to Tannic members.
